I go to a community recreation center, kinda like a YMCA. For some reason people are extremely scared of the hack squat machine. I've watched one man for the past few months not progress past one plate, that's as far as he loads it. He's probably 5'10" and 185 and because the hacksquat is at an incline he's actually squatting less than 90 lbs.


another guy put fucking 10s on there and busted out two sets of five in what had to have been the most saddest event in human history. I watch these people enjoy the weight lifting limbo they've put themselves in with horror. I want to shake them by their skelly shoulders and scream "YOU CAN LIFT MORE, DO IT."


also saw a guy shadow box inbetween his curling sets, he accidentally got too close to a wall, punched it, and immediately held his hand in pain for 5 straight minutes.

All at my uni gym.

I saw some kid use the pussy pad for front squats and he turned fucking blue during his set. He barely managed to rerack it and when I asked if he was ok he said he couldn't breathe...

Another kid put a 25 on one side and a 35 on the other side of a barbell and proceeded to do at least two sets of squats before I noticed and told him. He kept his form pretty well for having different weights on the bar.

i see a few things now and then but nothing out the range of somewhat bad from or just random shit, however there is one guy who i see every now and then who goes to the power rack(only 1) or any rack he can get, sets the bar up for a squat but doesn't add weight. I've never seen him squat he just makes a call on his phone or 10 min and i see him add eight every now and then, i ask the guy how many sets he had left, guy said he had 5 to go.

dunno why but he only turns up in peak hours, which i guess is why i try to avoid that time and go late at night

That's actually a legit exercise very common amongst boxers. My PT who is also a boxing coach once went like 40min only doing that sort of exercises when it was late and no work to do.

I think it's cute. There's a couple (I assume) at uni gym where I go and the guy is obviously the main lifter. I assume they're staff from the school or something, could be anywhere from 30-50 really. The girl always loads up the weights for him so he can do his big lifts then goes and does dumbbell exercises or whatever herself.

Some fat girl upstairs in the freeweights area was using a bench today to do the thing where you hold a dumbbell in either hand and step with one leg up and then alternate.

We literally have a section downstairs with cushioned boxes specially for jumping on and ledges.

Considered saying something but she was so fat and I didn't want to hurt her feelings so just quietly simmered with rage instead.

Got a guy at my gym who wears full Dragon Ball Z get up, and not just a t-shirt I mean full white leather knee high boots and elbow length gloves (h;e obviously made these himself), bleached hair in spikes and a orange and blue karate uniform. Bit of an autist but he's pretty ripped and actually moves some decent weight. I'll try and get a pic next time I see him.
