Holy shit, this perfectly encapsulates it for me. Even if I take extended breaks from certain boards, it's hard to completely quit the site, since there's boards that have that right balance of shitposting, that makes it fun to be apart of.

After seeing /b/ a bit and find gore threads, it actually changed me.
I no longer really care about life, human or not, in general. I don't value life so greatly.
I also don't react to violence and gore irl as severely as everyone else. I find gore and people dying funny, schadenfreude if you will.
I've also had thoughts about killing classmates and killing myself after being on /r9k/ a lot and seeing how I fit into society. After the countless social interactions that leave me annoyed and bothered, I think about elaborate speeches I could give in front of my class, gun in hand, and then shooting myself in front of them, if not shooting them as well.
Now /pol/, that place was a big red pill bringing out reality that I found cruel before. Such as issues involving ethnicity and some other stuff. It also doesn't help that I naturally want to see people with an IQ below 100 be enslaved or die. That idea I got from before 4Chan, so at least I was kinda already fucked.

Every time I go here I always go to r9k and fit, respectively. There's so much bullshit on r9k, people whining, traps, fembot threads, cringy anime threads, suicide threads, it's a feast for manipulative pieces of shit to go there and get attention or show that they are better in order to feel good about themselves.

Generally r9k is a garbage board, but there are some threads that make the hours of searching shitposts worth it. When you've really hit rock bottom, it can hit your sweet spot and feel like a goldmine, but it can also make you realise how shitty the human race is and how shitty you are and make you want to blow your brains out. If one wishes to browse r9k it's important to know when to stop, close the tab, and do something else.
