I just can't keep the grip tight and over under grip is dangerous
>>
Use hook grip
>>
Add in farmers carries

literally nothing wrong with over under grip, hook grip is painful so I wouldn't bother unless you're looking to become an oly lifter
>>
no, just do heavy shrugs for grip
>>

No one will ever say anything to your face but anyone who's actually /fit/ will smirk at you.
Over/under grip isn't dangerous with such low weight and good form.
Start with hook grip at 2 pl8s and make your way up slowly over a month.
>>
Euh
>>
Nah as long as you warmup with DOH until you cant. If you ever want to do a powerlifting meet just practice your over under grip for some singles before you do. You're already lifting in such an artificial environment with calculated weight plates and knurled easily holdable bar bell, who gives a fuck if you use straps?
>>
Will using the straps help my grip strength? Like say I get my 365 strapped dead lift to 405 with straps.
Could I then maybe do 385 without straps?

unlikely. Adding chalk and mixed grip before straps will help your hands actually feel some heavier weight.
>>
>>40916409
Would mixed grip be safe for rack pulls too
>>
>>40916426
If you can, yeah. You might develop a slight imbalance but no one is ever 100% symmetrical. Would you rather build your grip with heavier weight or use straps and need them as a crutch for the same weights for forever. I can DOH 455 but just barely.

Try using a fatter bar.
Pictured one weighs 65 lbs. and is about the diameter of a coffee cup.

>works for me in rack pulls
