>music that ranges from nonexistent to barely there
Lorde is a meme that's gone too far
>>40887095
I disagree
To me, her lyrics sound self aware to an unfamiliar level compared to her peers in the industry. Her production levels are so low that it points to now being solely commercial. None of her works are typically similar in anyway to be generic.
David Bowie supposedly said she's the future of music.
This is all my opinion though

To substantiate
>>40887142
*not being solely commercial
As in she doesn't put out as much stuff as she could, therefore she isn't squeezing out a fat shit for the money in it
>>40887142
I made a direct comparison of her lyrics to her peers in the industry, rising above the cesspool of popular music isn't greatness. Her minimalistic musical style while clean sounding should not be confused with a non-commercialised product, and remains the same song after song. While she does present some different themes, sometimes with maturity, from song to song her detached and dreamy teenage view permeates all her work.
She is very much the future of music, with a limited vocal range, a rudimentary understanding of how music should sound, and riding the hype train, she's built very impressive success at a young age, out of nowhere, by tapping into simple and relatable themes with her lyrics. This shouldn't be lauded as a good thing, the music publishing industry makes money hand over fist by publicising artists, and Lorde was just so marketable that she was a huge success just waiting to happen. There will be plenty more like her in the years to come.

Lorde pls go
>>40887389
>remains the same song after song
Okay pal, sure. Seeing as how Royals, Greenlight, Liability are all very different in style, themes, and delivery I think you're wrong and you're just trying to shit on her.
>Riding the hype train
You mean how shes releasing content for the first time in a few years?
>David Bowie knows less about quality music than you
Ur so smart
>Limited vocal range
I'll give you that
I think you're wrong on the whole because you're saying she's overly commercialized by publishers which is clearly not true. I think you're blinded by the shittiness of the industry and you're just writing her off on that basis alone.
>>40887519
fak u I like her

All her music can be called dreamy and minimalistic

Yep, seeing as two of the songs you mentioned are both about heartbreak and rejection that argument really holds water

David Bowie also never said anything about the quality of her music.
