Am I balding? I spread the hair in all directions at the crown of my head. I asked my mom and she said I've had this since a child, but I don't believe her. She's just saying that to make me believe it's normal or she's trying to get me to not worry about it.
My hair is thick everywhere else, but it's thin in that area.

Hard to tell but if you've had it since you were a kid I'd say it's just a cowlick. If you're paranoid start using minoxidil.

Yes, you are. You may have had that spot where the hair parts, but it seems to be thinning all around it.
Really though I don't understand why this is a question. When you start balding you SHOULD notice hair coming out in the shower, etc.

You will shed hairs for around a month or two. Results become noticeable after around 4-6 months.

Hard to tell, some people have thinner crowns. Harsh light doesn't help either.
