Is waist size alone a good measurement for bodyfat percentage? No access to calipers or such. According to other formulas I'm single digit bodyfat but that is impossible.

I have a bigger waist than that I take size 34 pants in the waist. Although my waist line is slightly larger than that according to tape measurement.
I'm cutting to below 15% bodyfat because I have gyno and can't afford the surgery yet.

Yes and no.
It is kinda accurate but it assumes you have a generic cookie cutter kind of bone structure and build. So it might be off.
I mean, I usually get anything from 12-16% on the things and I just have a 35ish inch waist but weigh 235 pounds. That doesn't seem to gel with the numerous bodyfat pics and I probably should have a higher bodyfat percentage.
But it's accurate enough and can help you get to where you need to go.
