My grip isn't that good, I mean mixed grip will bring your double overhand strength up to some degree. I can double overhand 190kg for one rep, but its hard as fuck. I have hook gripped 240kg but it fucking really hurts and doesn't really benefit grip, its basically like using your thumbs as straps.

All else I do for grip is farmers walks, and I have some captains of crush grippers at home that I should use more often.

Just don't use mixed grip until DOH fails you. It will bring your grip strength up.

Hey /fit/, first time posting here.

I've been lifting since the start of December (did SS, moved onto a 5-3-1 program after finishing it), have made decent strength gains while remaining more or less the same size.

Which was my goal, I don't really like the idea of being big/larger than "average". So I've put on 3kg in those four months.

My 5RM lifts at 75kg are:

OHP: 55kg
BP: 70kg
BS: 110kg
DL: 135kg
C+J: 80kg (holy fuck is doing 5 C+J in a row tiring)

So I'm still making gains on my current program, but I've just this week started to think that maybe having a bit more mass to protect me from injuries would be a good idea.

Is anyone here small but strong? Do you find you get injured often/at all? I haven't got hurt in the weightroom yet, and would like to keep it that way as long as possible.

But yeah, I'm aware I'm DYEL mode, it's essentially what I've been going for/happy with. Looking for input as to if it makes sense to have that as part of my lifting goals.

210/200/210 - 462/440/462 or so right now.
Main focus right now in pull ups and the goal is to hit 190kg total at with 120kg BW+70kg weights. After nationals I will focus in PL again and I should hit 700kg total quite easily this year.

I was about 13% bf a couple of months ago before I started bulking again and was pretty disappointed about how I don't have visible abs unless I was flexing or the light came from the right angle. I just felt like his abs weren't very defined and it looked like a realistic expectation for what unlfexed abs around 10% would look like.

I've started cutting for summer already and I advise you do the same. Cutting without losing a lot of mass, requires a small deficit and a small deficit requires long periods of cutting. I'm probably going to cut for like 2 or 3 months and at that point it's already hot enough outside to the beach and shit.

Not really. The oly lifts are very technical. You don't get anything out of pushing yourself for a rep max unless you're doing 1rm because the nature of the full body compound means you're more fatigued after multiple reps of c&j than multiple reps of bench.

If you're working on technique look up the different parts of the lift and break it down at low weight/the bar so you get a feel for the motions

My 1rm c&j is 265 but if you told me to do a 5rm I probably wouldn't be able to go heavier than 185

I did SS but I didn't read the book so I started cutting, then j read the book and started bulking but now I'm cutting again because I play frisbee and I have to be able to cut fast instead of squat 300 lbs. it's also hard for me to eat enough at college. Right now I'm 6'0 195 and I just feel like lost. if anyone has a good routine I'd love to hear it.

These pants were getting too tight on me a year ago. At which point I said, ok, fuck this. Started eating better, but wasn't really working out much. Jump to June; watching American Ninja Warrior, thinking to myself, man, if I was 15 years younger, I'd totally train for that shit (at the time I was 41, as of the time of this picture, I'm 42).

At the very moment I'm using my age as an excuse, a 51 year old steps up to the qualifier... AND FUCKING BEATS IT!

Oh, goddamnit! Can't use that as an excuse anymore!

Long story short. I've lost 35 lbs. since July 2016. Added a bit of muscle, and am currently training to challenge the qualifying round for American Ninja Warrior in the summer of 2018.

5'11/~190lbs in both pictures. 6 months of difference. I stagnated for about two months during that time, and at times only went to the gym once a week.

I think I balanced out my physique pretty well and gained upper body mass to compensate for my big thighs.
