I keep a notebook in which to record all of my lifts, and I arrange the exercises in alphabetical order -- if I don't do this, I become extremely confused concerning the flow of my routine, and I will find a small corner of the gym where no one is present, typically in a small nook behind the treadmills and sometimes in the broom closet, and there I will breathe heavily and crouch on the floor and start having uncomfortable flashbacks about the times when my mother would hit me in the face with a Swiffer duster.

However, it bothers me if the lifts are in alphabetical order but the numbers are not also in order, so I always make sure to keep my 1RMs at the following comparative weights:

Bench > Deadlift > OHP > Squat.

If I notice my squat starting to surpass my OHP, for example, I stop training legs for that month. I once intentionally injured my lower back in order to stagnate my deadlift progress. I did this by performing an exercise I invented myself, called "Deadlift Hops."

I also do pyramid sets, but in reverse, usually 4 sets, because I like the number of sets to be the same as the number of exercises in the overall routine. I change it up sometimes but it usually depends on whatever my dog tells me to do.
