Hardly anyone here speaks English and they all speak really fast. The first few months were really hard because I had no idea what was going on and often would be laughing and gossiping around me because I was a foreigner and it fucked with my head.

I just listened to Michel Thomas method and found a few chill guys to practice with and could have basic conversations after 6 months. Spanish is really similar to English so as long as you get people to talk slowly it's not too bad.
