Anyone on /fit/ have experience with getting your balls smashed? (Sports and martial arts)
I need a groin guard for muay thai, but I don't know what is best: Compression shorts with cup or jock strap.
Anyone have experience with either? How comfortable is each?
I sometimes will hit my balls with the bar when I'm doing cleans. Now I always make sure to wear compression shorts and tuck the boys away as best I can.

I use jockstrap for bjj. It's good but still hurts when your groin gets smashed

With a cup in it?

I thought /fit/ would be eager to have a thread about jock straps.

I'm a lacrosse goalie and I wear a jockstrap, but it does chafe a bit. Considering I barely even have to move and I still find it uncomfortable I'd recommend compression shorts for muay thai.
I used to have a jock strap cup simply because if I had to spar I'd just throw it over the shorts. Looks ridiculous but it works, doesn't chaffe and I wouldn't have to go take off the shorts, put something else on then the shorts again. For all other purposes the compression shorts are better.
Ugh.
You ask your coach. You get a steel thai cup that you tie on with string. You wear that under compression shorts.
inb4 'but anon, I don't want to tie it like a thong'
protip; you don't have to.

So is this for people who's nuts are on their left leg?

Does it have to be a steel Thai cup though?
They are quite expensive.
Will this shock doctor one be fine?
