When talking about how much you bench, you don't include the bars weight right? I have a friend who does this and it drives me nuts cos he thinks it's OK. Ie saying you bench 125 if you have 40 on each side and the bar is 45

You only count the plates on one side - that's why it's called 1pl8, 2pl8, etc. 1pl8 is not the same as 135, which would mean 45*3 = 135 i.e. 3 pl8s on one side. Retard dyels on /fit/ think that 135 is the same as 1pl8 for some godforsaken reason.
