As retarded as they might look, I added noticeable size to my forearms with wrist curls and reverse wrist curls.
Double overhand deadlifts are the best really
once you're up to 4plate + you'll have meaty forearms

farmers are definitely out of the question in your case
they're supposed to be done at a very challenging weight, often higher than your deadlift max
they are really good for grip strength and forearms but thats preety much all they can do.
They're like $20 (at least the CoC one I have was) and can be used pretty much everywhere. I even use them at red lights. I'd say they're worth it, but as a supplement to farmer's walks, hammer curls and wrist curls.
