I just want to share with you guys that after training hard for one year, I finally managed to break the elusive 40 kg (88.1849049 pounds) barrier in overhead press.
It had been a huge deal for me and when I courage'd up I finished not only one but two good reps.
Now I feel good, man. OHP is one of the most rewarding workouts there are.

is this actually a thing?
i regularly hit 80lb OHP and just started lifting, but maybe my form is absolute shit.

Well done. Keep going, nothing can stop you now.
>>40526788
are you a woman? it should've taken you like 3 months to break that on starting strength assuming you started with the bar and ate well.

I've been training on and off for like 2 years now. I still have trouble with repping 40 kg OHP.
Didn't do OHP for a while due to a shoulder injury though.

I used to hit 90 regularly standing OHP but due to a new place I'm at with a low ceiling Ive been forced to do a seated OHP. Been doing 75lbs
Nigga I was a 130lb skeleton and could OHP 100lb for reps you must be a girl

Is it a meme? I did 5x40kg on my first try and I was a 5'11" skelly
>tfw failed 160x3 today, had to opt for a double instead
>tfw got 145 for 5x5 on friday
why is The Press the most frustrating of all lifts?

Good work OP.
I believe in you. Keep going.

Same, started on 35kg as a spooky skelton and hit 50kg in 2 months

Good work OP. I started lifting a bit less than 3 years ago. OHP back then would have been probably about 25-30KG if that.
I now do 72.5KG 5x5 perfect form. Keep at it and you'll get there.
1 plate OHP feels good when ou get there.

Spoiler: 40kg isn't a benchmark at all. You're weak.

I agree. The plateau that many have a hard time breaking though is 1pl8. Much like the first plateau for many lifters on bench is 2pl8.
