I started lifting 2 years ago, mostly machines because my gym manager is pretty retarded, so I started "Starting Strength" from the sticky.
But as it turned out, I can't do benchpress, or really any movement that involves folding my wrist back, since I broke it when I was 17. It healed up well, but it still hurts like hell when doing pushups or the bench (doctor said this was the best it would get)
I tried to substitue the benchpress with some butterflies and curls, but it doesn't quite feel right
Any ideas what to do?
Pic related is my scaphoid

wtf are butterflies?

Dont do pushups then they are bad for the wrist. I have a ganglion cyst in my left wrist, was operated 3 times. What helps me is machine flys with elbows as contact point. Also bench press is a lot less painfull than pushups. Make sure to warm up your wrist good. There are usually alternatives to certain exercises so don't stick with something that will hurt in the long run.

Like I said bench is not really an option, but I did not find a workout that uses the same muscles (is there even any?)
What are you doing for upper body/chest besides the flys?

I'm not a native english speaker

German?

Maybe something like the squeezing of 2 plates in front of your body, forgot what its called.

Yeah.
I'll look into that.

Hoffe deine gains bleiben konstant.

You can see if wrist wraps help. They support your wrist so it doesn't bent back as much when you're benching or pressing.

Otherwise you have to figure out a way to train around it. Everyone on /fit/ shills barbell movements, and not without good reason. They are top tier bang for your buck exercises. But they're not the end all be all of fitness. If you have an actual injury that's preventing you from doing barbell shit, stop hurting yourself and find a way to work around it.

I broke my scaphoid too, OP. I do bench press with dumbbells, for whatever reason that doesn't hurt my wrist, maybe because it's easier to keep your wrist in a neutral position, if I make sure the back of my hand is in line with my forearm there's pretty much no pain. If dumbbells don't help, just substitute other lifts for chest and shoulders cause there's not much you can really do

Wrist wraps also helped a bit so try those too
>>
If your gym is decent it might have a chest fly machine, try things like dumbell bench and dips as well as they are even better than bench for developing the chest

Same here. Wrist got fucked in a car accident and cant bench at all. However dumbbells work just fine

>benchpress, or really any movement that involves folding my wrist back,
do research and review your bench press grip. the proper bench press grip doesn't fold the hand back anywhere near the amount a pushup does.
