did my first workout today and i had trouble with bench press

did my first workout today and i had trouble with bench press and overhead press. basically i couldn't do them even with bar only.

is it fine if i do them with free weights until then or is there something else i should do?

It's fine OP. Dumbells are equally as good, if not better for a lot of movements.

Barbells are free weights. Dumbbells are free weights. Free weights are weights not fixed to a machine. If you can't even bench the bar, at least try to get the terms right.
