Getting ready to go to a gym for the first time. i read sticky and I'm going to do the stronglift 5x5 routine. Only thing I'm concerned about is squats. I cant break parallel just air squating. Any tips on how I can actually break parallel?

I cant break parallel without the bar. I'm not sure if its bad form or what, but I cant achieve breaking parallel without rounding my back

You squat as low as you can comfortably while keeping your knees from moving out beyond your toes. Also, you stretch before and after your workouts. If you make sure to maintain discipline and push yourself to get lower each workout then you'll eventually see results.
Also, record yourself squatting and post it here for a form check.
Do simple hamstring and hip flexor stretches every day for 5-10 minutes. If you aren't old as fuck you will be able to squat below parallel in two weeks.

It's easier for me to break parallel with weight on my back. Chill bro you got this
Had the same issue, you need to stretch. I've posted this a number of times but this video helped me go from being unable to squat my own bodyweight to squatting a plate in a few weeks.

Especially the stretch that looks like a plank with your ankles and foot pointing outwards.

you probably have longer legs then torso so squats are probably not an effective exercise for your body type, switch to leg press for the same gains.

This. When I started I could not break parallel with the bar without weight. Also, unless you are very mobile, hitting respectible depth with hi-bar squats is difficult unless you wear oly shoes. Some people put 5 lb plates under their heels (personally I don't like this).
use a wide stance if you feel like you're gonna fall over, helped me a lot
