>Strength training is the best way for a natty to gain aesthetics
When will this meme die?
SS and Rippetoe are pure garbage but strength training is fine and bodybuilding should get you strong.
It should be all one thing, physical development.

I'm a skinny fuck ss is working out for me. Plus I do a fuck load of cardio and count muh calories. Week number 2 and I can already see all KINDS of GAINS

>i lift for 2 weeks trust me brah ss works for aesthetics
>>40456245
Exactly my thoughts. This is why you should be careful about taking other people's advice/word in anonymous image board.
There's nothing quite like training for 5 plus years and coming back to /fit/ just to "get educated" by people who have been lifting for 2 weeks.
>when will this meme die
Nobody says that though. The SS book literally says if you're looking to be aesthetic go somewhere else
SS is meant to be run for 6 months tops you fucking newfags

For strength, yes; for hypertrophy, no. If you want aesthetics, you should prioritize volume over intensity, tho intensity is important.
Do some beginner BB routine like pic related or Reddit PPL. Focus on get the max number of reps done everytime, rather than increase weight everytime. Add 5-10lbs on poundage every week and you will be good.
At the end of a year +-, you should reach a novice-intermediate lv of strength just as well.

So higher reps are more important than more weight? Christ.
>you're going to look like a world-class strength athlete after 1 year of beginner training
are people unironically this retarded?

Not as simplistic as that.
For a beginner, of course both strength and hypertrophy gains are important. Thing is that strength programs all overlook volume in favor of "quickly recover" and quicker strength gains, only; using ridiculously low volume such as under 25 reps/weekly for main upper body builders such Bench press.
Of course, as a beginner, you would still see noob gains; but nowhere as good as a balance between strength-hypertrophy would achieve. On a side note, there are muscles which will benefit more from intensity (large muscles, i.e. quadriceps, lats. traps.) and other muscles that will benefit way more from lots of volume (small muscles in general, i.e. finger flexors/extensors (forearms), deltoids, calves).

Any strength routine worth a damn has a volume block that focuses on hypertrophy
but by all means, keep running your brosplits and struggling to squat 2pl8. I'm sure the festival sloots will be drooling over your 12'' biceps any day now!

You do realise you add weight when you do a hypertrophy routine right?

Jesus, I haven't been on /fit/ in over a year. Isley has got kinda fat but looks strong as fuck.
