My gym doesn't have any squat rack but it does have a smith machine. Giving that there's no way to squat with a barbell there, is it better to squat using the smith machine or not squatting at all? Maybe using the Hack squat or romanian deadlift...
Honestly dont squat at all then.. Do some dumbbell split squats and stuff

I used to believe its better than nothing do I spent a few months using one. Now 3 weeks into another gym with barbells I not only decreased what I lifted, I also feel weak and the Smith proved to have no use for strength training.

Zercher squats. You can deadlift the bar and rest it on your quads while you reposition. You will have to squat lighter but its better than nothing.

i do 365lbs squats in the smith for 10 reps for 4 sets
i can hit 405 free weight squat for 5 reps, 4 sets
sure, I was strong doing free weight, but I saw more leg gains doing smith

Speak with the staff every time you go there and ask to talk to the owner. Constantly ask for a squat rack to be added and if they don't show any interest in getting one just leave that place as soon as you can.
Continue doing front squats, you will be limited to whatever you are able to clean and only able to back squat whatever you can jerk (hard to return the weight when going heavy) but it is better than nothing. And if you do deads and dumbell squat variations, when you finally have access to a squat rack you'll have some foundation to work from.
The smith machine really sucks, it will fuck up your squat form like crazy if you don't actually do free weight squats in combination with it.

Some people impulsively join the nearest / cheapest gym they find even if it's shit when they begin lifting.
I did it and thankfully they had all the right equipment (albeit a huge disproportion between free weights and cardio/machines). Contracts can be pretty fucking punishing to cancel and using 2 gyms at once would probably even cost more.
