How can I calculate how much a push up converts to lbs on the bench?
I do 200 a day to keep my back strong.
How similar are the two exercises?
>I do 200 a day to keep my back strong.
>keep my back strong
pushup don't work your back....
how can you be so unaware of your body

i share a board with actual retards
Simple place your hands on scales whilst in the push-up position and this is the calculated weight your pushing through your hands (Approx. 50% of body weight).

Peopl lik you is the reason I try to avoid this board at all costs. Fucking hell does anyone on his Syrian migration network even know anything about lifting?

Joke's on you. It's doctor prescribed.

Okay I just did this and got around 115 when my chest is down then about 100lbs when I'm up

A little bit they do. Go do some pushups (with good form) and pay attention to the feeling in your middle back / rhomboids. It's not really a back exercise, but your back is recruited and stretched during the exercise. Same thing with how pullups recruit your chest muscles, even though it isn't a chest exercise.

So that + your bodyweight means you can probably only bench the bar (in wilks)
Divide your bodyweight by your mechanical advantage.

>200 pushups a day
>to keep my back strong

So there you go. If you ever try benching, the bar + a 25 on each side would be an okay place to start.
However, you're doing 200 pushups. That's pretty hard to convert. No one does 200 bench presses.

They actually train your back if you go w/ full rom. Just not much so it's barely noticeable.

well i mean, if we're going about it like that then they also work your legs cause they help stabilize.
but its ridiculous to look at it like that

Yeah but if his back is weak then it may actually help.
200? doesn't that only builds stamina instead of strenght and muscle? I like doing them really slow and less and 20 reps
