How important is not having sugar and starchy carbs for gains? I'm still in noob gains, and I've cut out all starchy carbs and sweets unless it's directly post workout, but I'm finding it really hard, I feel hungry basically all the time and a little light headed all the time even though I'm eating more than I did before
I feel like I should add that I've got the ectomorph body type ie skinnyfat until I put some muscle on
it's not really important at all, and it's very strange that you feel more hungry after cutting out sugar and starchy carbs. that's the opposite of what you would expect

it's weird because I used to just binge on sugar every hour of the day and so maybe I'm just coming of a few year long sugar high? I don't know it's after I eat a meal I just want to eat more and more and I don't really feel like Ive eaten after a meal

Read the sticky, don't eliminate carbs, bodytipes are a mith

Sugar high is a myth. Craving sugar is not a myth though. You replaced starchy carbs with complex carbs? You eat more calorie-wise or just portion size more (ie salads or other green vegs)?

so basically rather than having a pizza or chips I'd have brown rice with chicken in it
however my meal sizes would stay the same but I would eat more fruit in between meals
I find the opposite happens to me, I cut out carbs and my appetite for them plummets. eat lots of veggies whenever you crave carbs
