Learn to dodge their swings, keep your distance until you can close in to put the filters down one by one. Also kicks help. Your legs will most likely reach farther than their arms can.

It's simple, if they have no fighting experience just try to get 2 hits into each one of their jaws as fast as you can. If you're too much of a manlet to do that, good punch in the solar plexus and run away.

Actually just bring a gun. That's probably the most reliable way to fend them off.

Alternatively just teleport behind them and cut them into pieces as your last resort. Don't forget to say "nothing personnel, kids" at the end.
