What's with the "FAT WAS BEAUTIFUL IN PAST CENTURIES" meme fatties keep trying to push?
>>
back in the day, fat people were wealthy because they could actually afford enough food and avoid enough manual labor that they could be lazy and get fat
fatties in modern society either don't realize that or just ignore it
>>
>>40266486

they were never even THAT fat though

no mobility scooters in the old days
>>
>>40266486
This doesn't mean fat people were thought of as more attractive you fucking retard, they were just more desirable for wealth.
>>
>>40266407

It's probably cognitive dissonance, maybe.

Their ideal body would be too difficult to obtain (nobody wants to look like Mr Blobby) so they rationalise their lack of trying by pushing the whole "fat was beautiful" thing.

Obviously they don't realise that women were not the size of Wales back then.
>>
>>40266511
I'm the retard but you're not even arguing against anything I said
kek

>that sculpture
Old masters making stone look like silk with crude tools. Ridiculous talent and hard work.
>>
>>40266608
>that feel when you are on no fap and a a statue gets you horney... Wonder how many loads have been cranked out at the foot of that statue....
>>
>>40266508
It isn't physically possible to get that fat without concentrated caloriebombs and sugarbombs in soda and processed foods. That's why history is lacking in mobilitywhales. "Normal" obesity was the extent of weight issues before the 1900's. Henry VIII was an anomaly with numerous health issues and chronic pain and he "only" weighed 390 when he died. These 500lb people are pulling off an incredible feat by accident.
>>
>>40266558
>Wales
The country?
>>
>>40266407
>Mirin dat sculpture

Fatties are stupid, healthy weight was beautiful, everyone else was tan and lean.
Skin tone could also often show your status in society

The VERY few Fat persons Were regarded as incapable and INCREDIBLY unhealthy.
>>
>>40266608
One of my fav sub-genres of classical art.
>>
These hams don't realize that fetishists have been around for thousands of years, but back then they made paintings and carvings instead of taking photos.

It's like 500 years from now someone finds some neckbeards porn collection and tries to say fucking cartoon ponies was normal
>>
Aristocrats were taller, smarter and in better shape than commoners.
>>
Man, that littl chub of fat in a woman's belly makes my dick hard as diamond.
Pic related.
>>
>>40266810
Fuck..
>>
>>40266407

I've never heard it stated anywhere that "bigger women were considered more beautiful"

In most of the literature "big women" characters are often portrayed as older and motherly. Not women in their sexual prime.

Also consider who was paying for these paintings. Women who did literally --nothing-- all day because they were wealthy. If any artist rendered these big women "beautiful" it was because they wanted to get fucking paid.

tl;dr

Big was never beautiful. It seems that way because vain fat women had nothing else to do with their money.
>>
>>40266407
Probably the fertility, as they considered a bigger females more fertile then those skeletors, which is a point that I can stand behind.
>>
>>40266407
the women in these statues are not fat, they're like high test fertility powerhouses

fat whale bitches do mental gymnastics and think their lard butter bodies are the same so they feel better
>>
>>40266608
but were they natty?

>you in charge of reading comprehension
You might want to read the last part he wrote.
>either don't realize that or just ignore it

>This doesn't mean fat people were thought of as more attractive
It doesn't, that's the bloody point. Fatties ignored that and just jump straight to 'it's what people of the past strive for' rather than purely as an indicator of their social background.

Ironic that you call others retard when you're the one who needs to be spoonfeed every little details.
>>
>>40266608
I'm sad that stuff is close to being a dead art. That sort of artwork that's worth millions, not some shitty post modernist shit that's just random inksplats and cost millions because it's a front for money laundering and tax frauds.
>>
>>40266407
>you will never fuck that statue
>>
>>40268864
It's because we have machines that can pump out these artworks no problem with extreme accuracy. The camera killed the whole photorealism game is paintings too.

It's based on their faulty understandings of art history and foreign cultures. They refer to the "venus" figurines of paleolithic groups as being "ideal" as a goddess, but will ignore the fact that no consensus has been made about the figurines and that by the same logic the ideal man would have a penis that made up a third of his body mass.

The other proposal is based on cherry picked paintings and sketches done during the renaissance and modern periods. Of course we have historical understanding of why the depicted people are shaped the way they are (not talking about the fetishists), but again, ignored for the sake of muh feels

I have a book here from 1896 that says there was a 800lbs man alive in the early 1800s
>>
>>40270753
Learn to read, anon.
It says nothing about a living man weighing 800lbs, it merely claims one individual carried a body weighing 789lbs to his grave. A horse, perhaps?
Regardless, a great feat of strength, especially if the graveyard was remote.

There were periods when that was the case, but it was mostly a meme. For example nippons at one time considered black teeth as a sign of wealth and through that disarability but of course there is no natural beauty in that.

Also some artists liked to draw fatsos because their fatfolds made more value variations and more interesting forms.

Right now people who want nazi others into their views take these select examples of fat fetishism and try to push it as a proof of inherent attractiveness of fatsos. To be fair a person can be beautiful and attractive even if they are fat (rarely if obese) but I don't think it's generally the case, especially when we get into nitty-gritty of stuff like skin rash, greasy sweat, stretch marks, not being able to throw the bitch in bed because you pulled your back the last time and that shit isn't worth it etc.
