So, it took me a while but I managed to learn the pistol squat. My question is: is it still worth doing the regular squat or should I replace it completely by the pistol squat in my workouts?

pistol squat sucks ass, do some for knee stabilization once a week but you wont get strong legs with it
good prehabilitation for runners, bad strength exercise

Then which exercise is better?
>>40260765
Bodyweight squats? If that's what you mean then yea. When I was poor and only had dumbbells I'd do weighted pistols.
>>40260765
how did you learn it? what progression did you follow?

barbell squat.

Do them assisted until you develop enough balance. Also they are harder to do barefoot, try using shoes with padded heels, it helps a lot.

>have the strength to do as many as I want
>only have the balance to do 2 or 3

I'll take things that aren't true, for 100, Alex.
>>40261063
>assisted
so just like holding on to a door frame or somethng?
>>40261092
Yea, usually I lay one hand on a table to give me support. When you feel you have improved try lowering yourself without support and when you feel confident try pushing yourself back up.
>can easily squat 2x my body weight
>can't do 1 (one) pistol squat
>>40261072
>have strength to deadlift 500 tonnes
>bar I'm using can only hold 100 lbs
10-15 reps each leg every day for the rest of your life desu. How do you think the ancient greeks had fucking tree trunk legs

Im pretty sure thats because they, ancient people, didnt have access to cars and stuff so they had to walk much more than us, therefore developing stronger legs...
