You have to have speed or skills that transcend high school levels. These people are all athletic, and that alone won't carry you. At 5'7, I would maybe try for safety, but again, you have to be really smart or VERY athletic at that height to be effective at that position. You could try half back, but you would have to be fast and agile, never drop the ball, and know how to break tackles.

My point is, you can't just "bulk up" and get on the team. There are already guys on the team who train harder and longer than you do, who also know the sport better.
