I'm trying out the machines now since it's 10 minutes to closing and there's no one here.

Why do you guys not recommend machines again? They seem pretty helpful, tell you what muscle you're doing, little way to fuck up and stress your muscles just as hard, the weights go pretty high.

So why are they frowned upon?
