metabolism is a real thing but it doesnt vary as extremely as people think it does and its not 100% genetics. Its just a scapegoat for uninformed or lazy people to blame

My cousin was like this, he was 48kg 5'8 and claimed to eat tons everyday.

I told him thats impossible.

One day we tracked his calories. I worked out that he needed 2800 calories to start gaining weight.

For those situations when someone's been undereating for a long time you want to push their calorie intake up incrementally. Start with 1600 for a week, then 1800, then 2000 for two weeks. After that point you push up to a bulk.
