Daily reminder that /keto/ isn't diabetic-ketoacidosis like first year medfags seem to think and that there's literally no downside to a ketogenic diet assuming you're a healthy non-diabetic person.

Ideal for cognitive health and weight loss but terrible for bodybuilding. Your body relies on glycogen for the explosive bursts required while lifting weights. Eating a ketogenic diet will deprive you of most glyocgen. However, it is ideal for cognitive health and perhaps health in a general sense, but definitely not weight lifting.

Most lifters on keto who I've talked to (including) myself do a Targeted keto diet. I have around 15g of glucose syrup in a black coffee pre workout. Gives you all the glycogen you need for lifting and it's burnt off by the time you're done.

Ah yes, I've heard of that. Could be an effective workaround. I wonder whether that affects your daily carb limit. For instance, if your carb limit is 20 grams, would you only be allowed to 5 grams of carbs after ingesting that, or do you think the workout nullifies it completely? I believe you're thrown out of keto after around 20 grams of carbs.

I don't include it in my daily net carb count (30g), takes a bit of testing to get your pre-workout total needed but 15g is perfect for me and never get kicked out of ketosis from it.
