Been on SS for 1 year. All my lifts are in the Intermediate range.

Been on SS for 1 year. All my lifts are in the Intermediate range. I feel ready for a change, want to start cutting, ready for different exercises.

Im thinking the next step is PPL with high reps but have absolutely no clue. Is this what's generally recommended now?
Also, I'm really ready to move on to more varied exercises than the standard compound movements.

Any advice where to go now?

PPL is a fantastic routine and probably your absolute best choice if your goal is aesthetics.

Alternatives would be Sheiko, Texas Method, Juggernaut Method, 5/3/1...

Sheiko or Texas Method would be for if you want to powerlift, Sheiko being the better of the two. Juggernaut is fantastic for athletic goals. 5/3/1 is good if you're a lazy shit and just want to stay in shape.

>PPL is a fantastic routine and probably your absolute best choice if your goal is aesthetics.

I figure this is the route to take, considering all that I've read states it's not possible to grow muscle during a cut, only maintain as much as you can. Since I now want to cut, this seems like the best option.

The main thing I want to pursue now is losing the fat I've gained over the last year and hopefully start to show the muscle I've gained.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's strictly true as a relatively new lifter. There's a decent chance that you will gain a little bit of muscle during your cut because it's going to be your first exposure to so much volume and your body may prioritize building muscle with your food intake calories, which is an extra bonus since you'll then be on an even bigger deficit...

Past that, the increased volume will give you increased work capacity and better conditioning that will benefit you immensely.

Hope it all goes smooth mang.

Try an upper/lower split. I feel that goinh from 3x a week to 6x a weeek might be too much.

At least for a month or so. You can use phul or canditos.

Do you want aesthetics, strength or sports specific?

>increased volume

you're referring to high reps, correct? Ive been reading very mixed signals regarding low rep vs high rep during a cut. will I be fucking anything up going from 3x5/5x5 for the last year to something like 3x10/2x15 during the cut?

been doing strength for the past year and gaining weight, now i want to do something different- lose fat and just try to look better.

well I have been. program says to keep going if the numbers are still going up, and they're still going up. I just want to try something new while I try to lose some fat.

Kind of. Volume is the total amount of work you're doing. So a high rep scheme of 3x10 is the same volume as the low rep scheme of 10x3.

Volume and intensity are different ends of the spectrum. The more volume you do, the less 'intensity' there is, meaning the smaller the percentage of your actual rep max you're doing during any given set.

Give stats faggot

Losing fat is diet, not exercise, but if your still gaining weight and wanna try something new, i highly suggest an upper/lower split. Lift heavy on mondays and tuesdays and do volume on thursdays an fridays.

Squeeze those newbie gains breh.

What about "Power Hypertrophy Upper Lower (PHUL) Workout" ?

I am currently doing SS and i think this looks like an interesting program.

Any thoughts on this? I'll probably just do texas, 521 after SS but eventually i wanna do PHUL
>>
>>40125167
lurking for answer regards PHUL. Seems interesting concept for later in my lifting to maintain ego by strength but also get that shredded looked
>>
>>40125167
Very similar to PPL just structured differently and more ideal if you'd rather train 4x than 6x weekly. Good for powerbuilding, or just general strength training for someone who wants to be big and strong, not compete in powerlifting.

Wendler 5/3/1 is good shit for intermediate aka when you can't throw on 2.5's a side per sesh anymore.
>>
>>40126447

and you can customize it to suit BB more or just rep out more of the main lifts, etc.
