I always go into the last rep of a bench set feeling I don't have enough energy to make it. But I know that if I don't make it, I'll either make a big scene and look like an idiot, or end up killing myself. It's good motivation. I always make it.

You should be able to do a 5x next week or you arent bulking properly. If you arent bulking add 1x3 and 2x1. Works for me I'm back to 1x5 1x3 1x1 1x1 1x3 1x5 but it all depends on the workout. Last time I skipped the 2nd 1x3 and failed with the 1x5 with only one rep. Was exhausted
