What routine were you on? There's no reason a bulk should have been that much of a failure
kek. probably doing 5x3 sets or something on your bulk?
>>40104976
Iopq, is that you? lel

Your traps are lacking big time is my main concern.

I hurt my lower back and was out of the gym for a bit. I just drank alot of beer.
>>40105655
ya i was too scared to deadlift for a while after I hurt my back. I'm doing 3x5 deadlifts at 245 atm.
>>40105655
will starting to do rack pulls save me?
Anyone else have antiprogress pics?

3x5
Ugh. If you hurt your back just do some more reps and sets. 3x5 come on brah its not like your deadlifting yuge weights.
>>40105775
My back is fine now and I've been deadlifting for like 3 months so far. What set/rep scheme would you recommend? Will I get mires if I focus on hypertrophy of my spinal erectors?
>>40105844
Just do 1x5 and focus on getting the weight up.
I seriously don't get why people go so light on deadlift
>>40105891
>>40105844
Idk about that when I was learning deadlifts my training partner (was a beast) recommended 5x5 scaling up.
First two sets warm you up and get your form right.
Last three you fucking blast your back. Finish with 3-4 reps on set 5 if you need to. I feel unfulfilled with 1x5
>>40105891
Haha it doesn't feel light to me. I will give it a try. My grip is the limiting factor
>>40105908
Sure nothing wrong with some light warmup. Personally I just do 5 reps of the weight my gymbro lifts (lmao2pl8).
Seriously don't get how you can feel unfulfilled with 1x5 if you go hard on it since it leaves me completely exhausted. I'm pretty sure my progression would have been waaay lower if I had done more sets but my progression might not have been usual though.

Yeah sorry didn't mean it that way. Grip has also been limiting for me sometimes.
Personally I have gained a lot from switching to mixed grip and more so from wearing a set of ordinary workgloves (since my gym has no chalk). Lost my gloves and until I found some new ones I couldn't even get over 5x315.
You can also consider making a wristroller. I made one a week or two ago and I just love it
>>40106025
I didn't really want to go to mixed grip until around 300lbs but I do have chalk in my home gym I could use. (I usually work out at the gym anyways with a friend). A wristroller looks easy enough to make. What did you use for the handle?

Pretty sweet rack. I had just used a dumbbell rod I had laying around but I think you can do it with pretty much everything cylinder shaped.
I've seen some people doing it with arms out front but I personally I'd recommend just letting your arms hang down. Remember to do both ways
>>40106168
Cool I'll give it a shot
