What's a good alternative to weights?
I can't afford the real thing right now.
I ask because I'm sure the way you lift has to be a factor in how effective it is, and that some objects are better than others.

pullups dips pushups and body rows can give you a good strength base. just dont expect to get huge
There's a ton of bodyweight plans out there. Find an ebook tracker and get to reading.

Er.
No I mean the object itself.
If you don't have a big piece of metal to pick up, what can you use in its place.
It's not about the plan. Yet.

Seems dangerous but something that weighs the same as a 25 plate or 45 lbs plate and a metal bar tough enough to support it. Idk tires or cans of paint. Water jugs instead of dumb bells. Before I got into fitness much I did bodyweight and just curled with two water 5L water bottles.
>Not deadlifting 4 tires or benching 50 L
Also sandbags or bags of cement and/or duffle bag filled with stuff.
Use your imagination kid.

Sir pls, I'm 30 years old.
And asking because I have a feeling if I pick the wrong object "OOHH no no! Never do that! That can wear out your ______! You gotta use a _____ so the motions don't contradict the ______. That's why bodybuilders always ______. Ah man you got FUCKED UP dude."
I mean. In any new field of knowledge, there are these random landmines and it's better to just be told about them in advance.

i would just watch some lifting form tutorial and find something that you can use to mimic the motion.

I really do wonder if gallons of water will do the trick.
