Found out I have an epigastric hernia which will need surgery. I'll be out for 4-6 weeks post-op.
how fucked are my gains?

Probably well fucked lad, I just recovered from one along with an esophageal ulcer and I lost 12 pounds. Some tips for rehabbing: Keep cardio & core work low. Use resistance bands as much as possible. Drink/eat cranberry juice, honey, flax seed & keep slow digesting foods like rice and pasta to a minimum. Get on a cycle of protonix if you can; if not, ask for pantoprazole. If your insurance won't cover it, try Nexium 2x a day, 30 minutes before your first and last meals. Eat a comfortable amount, stop when you feel full. Health>gains. Eat before bed if you are on a PPI like protonix; the lack of acid in your stomach + empty stomach might give you discomfort in the middle of the night, get an incline pillow and try to sleep on your left side as much as possible.
2 months after all this, I'm almost entirely healed aside from my hernia, which has now shrunk to the point where the doctor said it's insignificant and said I can stop taking meds and don't need to come back.

Are the meds for the Ulcer or for the hernia?
thanks for the info

mine is roughly 2.5" below my ribcage in the front.
Pretty fucked, I had my SC joint reconstructed and I can see myself becoming skelly, granted I still do leg press, core and cardio, I've pretty much lost all muh upper body gains since I'm in a sling. It sucks, but you'll get better and then you come back really fucking motivated
I hear lgd4033 prevents muscle wasting. If you choose to just go without lifting or taking anything, you can gain it back within 2 months.

reconstructed? How bad did you fuck yourself up?

I am weary to spend my shekels on these sarms snakeoil. Is there any peer-reviewed research done on it?
>>40067626
Damn op that sucks
Take care of yourself, gains are never gone forever. Your health is way more important

Thanks
are there any lifts I could do that don't have any abdomen involvement? Just so I can kinda stay in the game?
>>40068114
I tore it skiing, I ski park so bigger jumps/rails and doing dumb shit. I tore everything but my costoclavicular ligament on my shit side so that was reconstructed with hamstring sorta like an ACL but not really. Supposedly I can regain full activity afterwards and the joint feels more stable than my left which I never tore so I'm fairly confident.

I regained 2 years worth of gains, after a 8 month break, in 2 months.
Gains come back pretty fast.

This, if you've done the initial work, it's MUCH easier, you might not look good, but under there the muscle hasn't just completely evaporated, it's just not being used. Once you restart you already know the form so you skip all that bullshit, and make quality gains faster, plus you aren't "growing" all that muscle from scratch like the last time. Obviously thats a huge oversimplification, but it's not a death sentence like people think

Did you lose much size?
