I need to get my 1.5mile run time down from 11.30 to 9.40. What

I need to get my 1.5mile run time down from 11.30 to 9.40. What is the quickest way of doing this?

Why am I doing it? Pic related para reg.

We called them indian runs. When we ran in single file formation the last guy had to sprint to the front and fall in line. Rinse and repeat.

If you are running solo, 20 sec sprint every 2 minutes for 5 miles. Works every time.

Yeah HIIT is the key to getting faster at a distance that short. Once a week do a slow run thats bigger and every once in a while rest for a bit and do the 1.5 miler. Good luck with the paras!

literally just run more. You'll need to get it below 9:40 to get into the paras nowadays though, more like 9 dead

Sprint 500m's then jog for 500m's

Repeat that maybe 6 or 8 times's and time your sprints. Do this once a week and combine it with long runs like 5k and above.

Assuming you run MON/WED/FRI do to long runs on MON/WED and this HiiT routine on FRI

If you have any more weight to shed, do that. As a rule of thumb, every extra lb is a second on your mile time.
