Are you fucking kidding? Vegeta got a SHITLOAD of plot contrivance Zenkais on Namek and only acquired Super Saiyan because he cried that he couldn't do it. Goku was the one pounding himself with Kamehamehas in 100x Earth's gravity and unlocked Super Saiyan after pushing his body to the absolute limit and unleashing his anger

Goku also trained with the strongest warriors in the universe without the constraints of a living body during the seven years he was dead. Vegeta just did lots of pushups and drank plenty of juice.
