Is 22 too old to start lifting? What age did you start lifting? Why did you start lifting?
>>
The best time to start lifting was when you were a teenager. The second best time is today.
>>
>>40042827
its never too late to start lifting man. the sooner the better

get going
>>
The only things you can ever be too old for are professional athleticism or modeling.

20, I was a fat fuck who ran out breath walking up steps
>>
>>40042827
22 isn't too old for anything other than statutory rape
>>
>>40042827
That bitch looks awful.
>>
>>40042827
started at 23. went from 160lbs - 220lbs in a year
>>
>>40042827
I started fooling around with pushups and weights at 26 when i got tired of being skinnyfat. Started getting semi serious at 29. Just turned 31 yesterday and just started my first bulk two months ago. Getting into weightlifting has been indescribably helpful. Wish i had started earlier but glad i didn't wait any longer
>>
>>40042850
fpbp
@OP there's no one here who's going to tell you that they started weightlifting and regretted it, no matter their age. do it bro.
>>
>>40042827
It's nerver to late. Started doing bodyweight training when I was 28 and now I'm in the shape of my life. And bitches love it.
>>
Started regularly hitting the gym at 22 doing cardio and machines. Started my first program at 23. A year later I'm in the best shape of my life. I'll never be aesthetic, or at least not for some time, but at least I'll be strong and not obese.
>>
OP here. Thanks guys. I'm gonna start tomorrow! Want to make you all proud.
>>
>>40042827

I started at 22.

Started at 170lbs

24 now, 220lbs.
>>
>>40042961
>I'm gonna start tomorrow

never going to make it.

>>40043181
Not OP here but same age.
Were any of you guys who started later able to get aesthetic (reasonably muscular with abs)? Natty or otherwise?
>>
>>40042827
I am starting at 24.
I still have a chance at easily fucking 14 year old girls when I get ripped, right? (I have good facial aesthetics)
>inb4 grown men only fuck roasty burnt out whores *tips fedora*
Shut your faggot mouth Christcuck, this is not the USA, 14 is legal here (and they are already huge sluts by then, anyways).

I'm 22 and I started lifting at the beginning of last October. Why would it ever be too late to start?

As fpbp said, being a teenager is best age to start lifting. Like 16-17 years or so. Unfortunately I started only at 26. So you being 22 only is better than nothing at all.

There's never an age too old to start, unless you want to be competitive, in which case if you even have to ask it's too late
>>
A better question is what best time to start lifting and the answer is NOW
I started at age 15
I was a skinny bitch, I wanted respect from my peers, girls, and adults and god dammit I did it.
>>
>>40042827
this question is fucking retard
If you start now, you will look better in a year or 2 or 5 than if you didn't. It's that fucking simple
>>
>>40043557
fucking retarded*
guess I'm fucking retard too
>>
>>40043306
Yeah. Took about a year but you'll get there if you actually work at it.
>>
No it is impossible to make any difference in your body by doing regular exercise with progressive resistance if you are over 21. Sorry op
>>
No. Bodybuilding doesn't require anything but lifting big weights up and down. It takes virtually none skill at all. You can start it whenever your body still produces testosterone.

You also don't need natural athleticism to get a great body. Bodybuilders often aren't the most athletic type.

Started lifting at 27, extremely glad I did too. It's made positive impacts on virtually every aspect of my life since. Wasted my youth and midtwenties playing vidya and browsing /b/. Never too late to turn it around holmes. Not to mention the older you get, the more rare /fit/ men are. Seriously, virtually every other 30 year old male I know is dadbod or worse. Like shooting fish in a barrel when it comes to dating.
>>

Right arm is your fappin arm eh

16-17
> Why did you start lifting?
I watched a few Zyzz videos and I had a girl I really liked.Generic stuff.
>>
>>40042827
Never too late. I started at 28 and now at 30, have a six pack for the first time in my life. I'm sure jumping into it a decade earlier would have gotten me results faster, but fuck it. Better late than never

"Wróć" means "come back" in Polish.
Testo was a troll on YT that got masses of Poles assblasted with his movies. One of his characteristics was wearing Calvin Kleine underwear, I guess you kinda look like him in this pic, hence comment.

>>
>>40042827
Started at 24. Almost 29 now. Never too late to start, though I wish I would have started 6~8 years earlier.
>>
>>40042827
>What age did you start lifting?
I turned 22 1 month ago now. Basically started gym last week but it's not the first time I step on a gym, I have always been athletic and done exercise here and there.

>Why did you start lifting?
I want more strenght, size, and a better posture and health.
For me lifting is relatively easy to do and totally worthy considering all the benefits it provides. In the past I used to do series of 10-20 reps because of ignorance, now only 5-8 for any exercise and it feels incredibly comfortable.
Lifting also fights anxiety and depression like nothing else does, and it's like it gives me more energy for routine, mundane tasks. It might have something to do with the endorphines.

>Is 22 too old to start lifting?
If I could travel back to the time I would actually lift since being a little kid, as long as done with extreme safety.
But 22 is perfectly ok, you don't even have to ask that.

I'm a few days away from turning 28 and only started lifting and doing cardio a few weeks back. You just gave my obese arse hope that everything's gonna be ok.
>>
>>40045810
What age are you in that pic, fampai?
>>
Started at my 28th birthday. I'm 29 now, the strongest, most muscular and the best looking I've ever been. 22 is very young, go for it.
>>
I'm almost 21 and have been here 5 years or so.
My problem is I have a huge mental block where it's nearly impossible for me to pursue something if I can't do it 100% correctly.
Been to the gym like twice in these 5 years, none of the gyms near me have squat racks/cages and are all machines.
I know it would be better than nothing but it feels fucking pointless to me, I know it's not because of motivation because I do some pretty intensive stuff that takes far more out of me mentally than weights ever could.
I did clean up my diet years ago and while I'm skinnyfat I'm at least a moderately healthy skinnyfat compared to what I could be.
>>
is 27 too late
>>
>>40045936
it would've been a lot more OK if you'd started sooner
but it would've been a lot worse if you'd started later
find the balance between these thoughts senpai
>>
>>40042827

Ive been lifting since I was 14. on and off, for fun. Usually to exhaustion.

It was a drug before I discovered drugs.

You can start at anytime. You have the innate potential for muscle growth at all ages. Youre prime muslce growth/ease years are when your test is spiking - from 16-28.

That only means it easier in those years.

Working out is not supposed to be easy.

So you are more appropriately working out, your mind more than your body with age, with each painful lift.

It's just as hard to lift weights now as it was when I was young. Things remain heavy. . .oddly enough.
>>
>>40045605
Wait are you that nigga that locked the girl on your balcony and she fell to her death like a retard?
>>
>>40042827
just start now
I started in middle school for sports and still keeping with it (2nd year uni)
Now I lift to look good and help with my mood
>>
>>40043325
>regurgitated food
>in her asshole

Either you don't know the definition of regurgitated, or you're into some really fucked up shit (literally).
>>
What a fucking question is that? Seriously WTF???
>>
>>40042827
Started at 24. Always felt gym was a meme for sad fuckers, then realised lifting would actually improve my health and lifestyle.

I think scooby started in his 40s and the guy is a wrinkly greek god at the age of 60+.
>>
>>40042827
I didn't start natural bodybuilding untill about 30 years old. I lifted for wieght when I was young. Like powerlifting
>>
>>40042827
I just started working out in September
And bench 260
Deadlift 350
Just started doing legs this month
So my squat is shit haven't tried a one rep max but the most weight I have tried is 130
But my point is I just turned 30.wish I started half my life ago but even at 30 iv never been happier. But I don't think it's ever to late. Unless your goal was to be a professional lifter then yeah 22 is probably to old
>>
I used to work out in my early 20's and stopped for ten years. I started working out again after my 34th birthday and am 4 months in. Wish I would have gotten back to it earlier, but instead allowed a hectic work schedule and family to get in the way. After dealing with some pretty severe depression I decided it was time to get back after it and I am already feeling and looking better. Hoping that by summer I'll be rocking my goal body and looking much better than the other 30-somethings I see on the lake.
>>
>>40047074

Hah no, I heard about that though. Some normie chad wannabe ate PIZZA after allegedly killing the chick he had over like no big deal. Pretty sure he got off though.
>>
>>40042827

>>
ITS NOT TOO LATE OP!! I MADE THE SAME THREAD AT 23

I LOST MY KHV AT 23.5!!!!

HOW YOU ASK??? NOOB GAINS!! IN YOUR FIRST FEW MONTHS YOU WILL SEE CRAZY PROGRESS
>>
>>40046113

Abit more than a year of lifting
>>
I started at 57. Working out was a real bitch but with T replacement I manged to make it happen. Dropped 115 pounds and feel great.
>>
>>40046951

>>40042827

>>

>>
At 30

Lost 50 kg and got some great gains.
>>
>>40050699
way to go bro
>>
>>40042827

I hit rock bottom in life at 26 and lost my career and fiancee and attempted suicide and shit. I moved back to parents home and started going to gym with my dad who didn't know what he was doing. We both learnt starting strength from youtube vids and got serious at it.

My dad basically started lifting at 60 and he loves it. He is the strongest he has ever been in his life now. He is really fit for his age now too. Never too late
>>
>>40046913
Here is the reply you want, stop with the bs and start working now. I was a poor fag when I started and I had to do body weight cuz I couldn't aford a gym. Take what you have and make the most of it. You are the only one that is keeping you from being what you want to be.
>>
>>40043325
>implying she eats
>>
>>40042827
30
>>
>>40042827
I started at 22.
>>
>>40046913
I don't go to the gym for the same reason. I don't want to increase my rests between exercises because someone is on the bench, or change the order of my routine or whatever. So I bought adjustable dumbbells. Got enough plates that I can get ~30kg for one handed exercises. One day I'll buy a bar for heavier lifts, but I'm still making progress on all my lifts with dumbbells right now (quite a lot of volume), so no rush.
>>
>>40042827
19 and I started seriously about a month ago. Just do it OP. It's the best decision I've ever made.
>>
>>40043306
No your body doesn't register weight lifted after you're 21.5 years old. Also all food will directly be converted into fat
>>
It's never too late. I used to be 300lb's at 6'2" until I was 20. I dieted all the way to 220 but I still looked like a melted, sloppy, skinnyfat bitch. Started lifting seriously at 23, it's been a year since then, down to 195 with a very different body comp, girls look at me/talk to me, I feel confident for the first time in my life, I'm getting straight A's at the UNI due to mental toughness gains, it's a good life OP, just start, you won't regret it.
>>
>>40042827
Started at 32 nigga. I'm in better shape at 35 than I was at 22. It's never too late. Wish I'd done it sooner but at least I did it eventually.

Must have started at the age of 14, sporadically.
My dad lifted for 25+ years when I started. I beat his strength feats at the age of 17. Genetics, go figure. I didn't start to look proper till late 18. At 20 now I am starting to look respectable, still a dry dense musculature and small joints and muscle bellies.
I didn't start making proper mass gains till I noticed increased facial hair.
Musta been the male test boost. Sure was late.

>Why did you start lifting?
I see my body as a testament to my wisdom. Edgy? Yeah, but it does work. Kind of, most people seem to assume that big muscles = small brain. Yet another reason that my master's degree was a waste of time.

Does /fit/ have similar experiences?
>>
started at 23, 24 now. it's been ~8 months of amazing gains. confidence, strength (I don't body build, I simply like lifting and strength training), I've shattered my goals and I'm so much more athletic.

best time to start is right now
>>
>>40042827
You can start at 50 at you want. Noobie gains are instant gratification.
