Anyone have problems with lower back hyper-extension during deadlifts? Should I just lower my weight and work on form?
General injury prevention thread I guess
Really focus on engaging your core and brace properly.
Something that might also help is to clench your glutes while you're standing as you set up, helps cue loading the posterior chain

Yeah I'm not sure if it's because I look up a bit in the mirror before I start my set. Like maybe my lower back is tight and neutral but when I look up a bit, it throws things off

>I look up a bit in the mirror before I start my set
wrong
>when I look up a bit, it throws things off
no shit, stop doing it

Record yourself again, make sure you're engaging your lats.

There is a discussion of this exact issue in the deadlift chapter of SS.
If you're a male, I highly doubt you are doing this.

Atp causes this. I'm sure it's fairly common.
