my aim is to finally get that 3x5 2plate bench.
but I can only 3x2 with 2plate (but with full ROM). am I wasting my time? should I deload to a weight where I can still do 3x5?

Yes. Deload 10%, then work up again. Don't forget your warm-up sets.

When I stalled on lmao2pl8 bench I dropped weight to 205 mixed in weighted dips and more DB work.
Came back to it ~3 weeks later and nailed it. don't forget to eat & sleep more either, senpai.

deloading works if you've been working hard for a long time and have accumulated a lot of fatigue. it doesn't work that well for a large number of people because they haven't worked hard enough and are stalling for other reasons.

thanks, I've been doing weighted dips and incline db press regardless.
I'll give it another week and if I can't progress I'll deload.
