hey guys are chest flies a meme? I've seen arguments made that they are shoulder-killers and others that say that they're fine. I've never done them because I like my shoulders but would like to train that outer part of my chest.
so what's the deal? any alternatives?

flies are for training the inner chest bro
>but only if you do them correctly

Is pic correct form? I don't bend my arms quite that much
>>39991415
>inner chest
Woah there buddy, I think you mean your outer chest, you have to do cable crossovers to train inner chest
Fucking casuals

I have gymbros who do them and haven't had issues, but I feel impingement in my rotator cuff even on very light weights so I don't do the movement.

>inner chest
>outer chest
whoa ther buddy, i dont think you know the anatomy of a human chest. there are no exersizes to work inner or outer chest, only upper and lower. look it up you fucking casual shit
>>39991741
i think that the straighter your arms are the more pressure there is on your elbow joint.
>>39991404
do them with cables or even resistance bands
>>39991911
That was the joke.
>>39991404
These don't work for me and I've tried doing them different ways
Do cable flyes and dips, they're better and in combination will give better results than just db flyes

inner and outer is a meme to. anatomically speaking there are two parts but it's ALWAYS the whole muscle which contracts, you literally cannot isolate either one.
i fucked my left rotator cuff and fculdnt lift for 6 months due to chest flies
just use cable crossovers, better in every regard
