What is the right ammount of protein a day for optimal muscle development?
I keep hearing different things from different sources.
1.5 to 2g per kg bodymass
You're hearing different things because it really depends. For maintaining the muscle mass you have, ~0.6g per lb of lean body mass (LBM = mass - fat) is fine. For cutting or bulking, you ideally want ~1.0g per lb of lean body mass. Protein excess when cutting helps you to not lose the muscle you have, and when bulking it helps to build more. That said, it's not like you can't make progress with less, and many people have. More than 1lb of protein per lb of LBM isn't a bad thing, but it provides no verifiable benefits. This is for naturals; I really don't know shit about how steroids would affect this. Source: Have read medical studies on the issue, so this isn't broscience.

For actual bodybuilders who want to look good and are enchanced? 1.5-2grams per LB.
MISS fucking olympia takes in 400g of protein per day and she weighs less than 200lbs.
