Hey /fit/. Just came home from the doctor who told me to stop lifting because of my scoliosis.
What are some good alternatives for people with fucked up backs?

My doctor told me to lift because of my scoliosis.

This sounds like terrible advice

My doctor said that pit puts a lot of strain in my back (even if i do lift with proper form) and would fuck it up eventually.
He told me i should swim though
OP how bad is your scoliosis? The only time scoliosis prevents lifting is if it's lower back scoliosis or severe upper back.. mild/light doesn't interfere.. he just doesn't want liability desu

>puts a lot of strain in my back
Lift lighter weights then, but definitely keep lifting. Consult a physiotherapist, a lot of doctors don't know what they're talking about, they just want you to stop bothering them and stealing their precious doctor time.

Get the surgery mang. Or, if you're from Burgerstan, move to a civilised country and THEN get the surgery mang.

Doctors advice in general is "if doing something hurts/makes you sick/other bad things, stop doing that thing"
Dont listen to your doctors, Dont fall for the bad back, cant lift. Check out lamar gant.
Lifting will increase muscle strength and prevent the back from curving more. and also stop that dumbass pain you prob get when you lay and sit around.
