Is push press a good substitute for when you stall on The Press?

I stalled at 1pl8 The Press for 1 rep but i can push press 1.5pl8 for 1 rep now

Just do some other shoulder exercise.
Push Press as The Press substitute is the same as Half-squat as The Squat substitute.

It's viable. Lots of strong overhead pressers use it as either an alternate main lift or as a secondary movement. Most overload style movements work provided you don't get stupid about them.

your delts are almost certainly the limiting factor

might also try pin press from your sticking point

At the start of the movement, thumbs are juSt inside my deLts. Forearms perpendicular to ground.

Never understood how ppl press with forearms at an angle tof the ground. That shit sucks for me. I have long arms tho
