Op here, I've been lifting for about 7-8 months consistently. I do have prior lifting experience but it was very on and off, mostly off. Eating more helped me break my plateaus. Give it some more time or maybe your form is off or you might just be tired

yeah I've never had back pain with it, but I was trying to move up too fast cause I thought I should be able to lift more and 205 definitely was a struggle. I lowered my working sets down to 155 1x5 and my form is much better. one day I'll post a vid for /fit/.

My PRs are:
135 OHP
225 Bench
315 Squat
430 Deadlift.
I started of as a hambeast and ate at maintenance until I hit 1/2/3/4 then went on a 700 calorie below TDEE cut. My bench and OHP has gone down a bit, squat and diddly has increased but I also have lost 40 lbs of blubber so far so a happy trade off.

OHP must have been the easiest. I was already squatting 315 when I started doing the OHP properly with a mere 90 lbs, it just got up to the 135 in 4-5 months. While that squat took me 2,5 years.
I can almost taste the achievement.
But isn't the 1/2/3/4 strength ratio kinda strangely proportioned? Fits me perfectly but I'm somewhat lower body dominant.
>>
>>39820256
actual right at 1/2/3/4 plate, started with OHP in late june, finished with DL in early october. Haven't added much weight on some since desu, been kinda lazy. Swimming a lot more too now since 1/2/3/4 was my goal
OHP: 145x5
Bench: 225

DL: Pulled 405x1 two separate times, haven't tried much since.

>>
>>39820406

And my OHP and bench are impressive to lifters.

Your point?
>>
>>39820406
Cares about impressing non-lifters that are probaply in the same ball-park if they had more faith in their own strength. As soon as they become aware of how little training is required to hit that they will come for you. Go for higher ground weakling. Or perish when the normies realize their potential.

honestly if you are worried about your back, which is reasonable, (1) learn how to brace (Chris Duffin has a good video) and (2) pull sumo. A lot harder to put your lower back into flexion pulling sumo versus conventional.

1/2/3/4 is stupid and unbalanced, it'll make you look like a t-rex.

1/2/2.5/3.5 is a more reasonable ratio and even then it's still stupid, just train with a non-retarded program (aka not something that has you squatting more than twice a week) and stop caring about achieving "goals". that way your body will actually end up balanced and since it is balanced, you'll have aesthetics too.

I would say they're all about as difficult/easy (let's face it, it's just getting out of dyel mode). Differences are individual and depend on your frame.
I got them after about 1 year and few months. OHP way earlier. But now, after another 1,5 year later, I'm not much stronger. It's easy to get to 1/2/3/4, but then the real ride begins.

1 year progress from no sports or any other physical activity
170lb bodyweight, like 12% bf I think
105 OHP

200 Squat
285 diddlylift

I'm sorry but anyone who put it wrong is never gonna make it.

~2 weeks of gym sessions on 5x5 coming from climbing and bodyweight at 6'2 75kg

52kg OHP
89kg Bench
90kg Squat
98kg Deadlift

I don't know if this is good or not for where I am but all I can tell is that it's unbalanced as fuck compared to everyone else
>>
OHP 16kg
Bench 35kg
Squat 40kg
Deadlift 60kg

we're all gonna maake it

not really, he probably just has long limbs

i've been lifting 6 years and my deadlift is 150lbs ahead of my squat
>>
OHP- 150 lbs
Bench- 215 lbs
Squat- 235 lb
Deadlift- 285 lb
I've been working hard on improving the last two.
>>
160/210/350/500

ohp/bench/squat/dead

not even trex
>>
OHP - 15kg x 10
Bench - 50kg x 8
Squat - 80kg x 5
Deadlift - 100kg x3

almost been 4 months since i started working out, OHP will never improve because my shoulders are dogshit, and I've never tried to hit a 1RP on any lift so far so I dunno, judge me on my working sets
>>
175 ohp
280 bench
305 squat
400 dl

315x5 squat is like my only goal for the whole year.

No I mean I got 1/2/3/4 in my first 6 months, been lifting for 3 years now
>>
Is getting to 1/2/3/4 in one year from total beginner realistic?
>>
>>39827482

Depends on your size and goals, but it's definitely something people have managed.
>>
>>39820256
I made it to 1pl8 ohp really quickly. Still not near the rest though
>>
>>39827482
I did, but I started as an "untrained" construction worker with outdoor hobbies. That's not the same as untrained desk worker or hungry skelleton.
>>
>>39822510

Both
>>
60kg OHP
87,5kg Bench
120kg Squat
155kg DL
One rep maxes after a year liftan. I know it's pretty shit, apparently 5 rep 1/2/3/4 should be relatively easy in that time.
Are my lifts proportionate though? Or should I work on something specific more?
>>
>>39820256
How much is 1 plate? The bar is 20kg so how much do the plates on each side weigh when you are talking about 1 plate?

it's the bar (45 lbs) + 1 plate (45 lbs) on each side.

Easily possible if you are not cutting for too long.

Is 1/2/3/4 for reps? I'm doing SS right now:
OHP 110 lbs
Bench 165 lbs
Squat 200 lbs
Diddly 225

I did work up to 225 squat last week, but I deloaded because my form was shit. My left leg is significantly stronger than my right, and when I come up out of the whole the bar tilts to the right a significant amount.

Also my diddly is absolute shit. My lower back rounds at 2pl8 after the second rep. I don't ever feel my hamstrings engage, it just feels like my back is doing the work. Any tips?
>>
>>39820256
is 1/2/3/4 ORM or your normal reps?
>>
>>39828996
It's for 5 reps
>>
>>39820256
OHP 105

5'9" and 160lbs. Lifting consistently about 3 months now.

I get that you're trying but your process is all wrong. What are your goals?
>>
>>39822892
not if you want to make gains
>>
I don't test my maxes but for 3x5 of each except diddly which is 1x5:

95 ohp
180 bp
225 squat
255 dl

I think that 4 plate on dls is personally going to be the toughest but I also suck at them as you can see. On average I'd say 1 pl8 press for most people.

First day in the gym I did
OHP: 115×3
Bench: 135x8
Squat: 275x3
Diddly: 315x3

Never set foot in the gym before that but I worked manual labour jobs and ride mountainbikes and build trails so I immagine that helps a lot.
>>
>>39820256
OHP 115x8
Bench 175x5
Squat 265x5
Diddy 305x5

Squat and OHP I could probably hit 1/3pl8 for 1 rep now, but bench and diddy seem like a ways away
>>
>>39820256
Yea, I'm at..

OHP 155x3
Bench 235x5
Squat 345x3
Deadlift 405x3
Pullups 45lbs added for 6
Dips 70lbs added for 8

Been lifting since May 2015.
21 y.o, 171lbs, 5'11 for reference.
Think I'm about right for how long I've been lifting, 1 1/2 years to make 1/2/3/4x5.

I've been training for about 3 months for first time in life just turned 26
I can do :
OHP 135x5
Bench 225x3
Squat 245x5 (never really tried max and just incorporated squats in last month cause I didn't know how to do them)
Deadlift 315x1.

I'm 6'4" 245lbs. I hit 225 bench first. But by the time I was doing that I was repping 135 ohp. Idk I'm still fat and imbalanced and have a long way to go. Thoughts?
>>
Never tried OHP to be honest.

Bench: 265lbs
Squat: 225x8 (never gone for 1 rep max)
Deadlift: 385lbs
>>
>>39832540

Oh I should specify, I do 225x8 and 245x5 on bench and 315x5 on deadlift
>>
>>39832540
You should try it it's sick.

It's at least on par with the bench press for me in terms of favourite lift.
