Is cardio legitimately important for making gains, or is it OK to just skip it?
I never do cardio, but I'm a skinny faggot. I thing HIIT is suggested if you're a fat fucker.

Cardio kills gains

Cardio improves your ability to get oxygen throughout your body. While running too much will in fact keep you lanky, running too little will make it hard for your to support significant muscle growth as your muscles won't be able to breathe.
I suggest 10-15 minutes of intermittent sprinting/jogging at the end of every workout session.

Increasing the ability of your cadiovascular system is highly beneficial for gains. It allows you to metabolise more oxygen per breath and enhances the transport of said oxygen to your cells.
Therefore, protein synthesis could be said to improve as your cardiovascular system becomes more efficient.
HIIT is the best form of training for increasing your VO2 max, and therefore recommended in complementing resistance training.

Thanks for an actual answer

cardio kills gains is a meme. Unless youre like a marathon runner running 15 miles a day every day. Running regularly is obviously very important for heart health and has tons of other benefits that definitely qualify as gains like less anxiety and depression. Not to mention better skin as well. All you need is like 2-3 miles at a moderate pace 2 or 3 times a week

It may kill gains if it's overdone but if you want to really be fit i'd recommend 3 days of cardio per week, I've got the best results from swimming and sprinting. Also Being healthy > Aesthetics

This.

HIIT is good but light cardio help with recovery also

Why would metabolising more oxygen - I.e. More oxidative phosphorylation...lead to increased protein synthesis at all?
It wouldn't.

Better cardio = more nutrients in your muscles

Not him but a better cardiovascular system allow cell processes to be more efficient aka improved recovery and faster metabolites transport wich may lead to better protein syntesis
