There's lots of ways... but the best and easiest ways don't start in the gym... it starts with learning to feed themselves properly.

If you're overweight, you should shed the weight before going to the gym. Exercising while overweight and dieting is a very stupid thing to do, and it fails wayyyyy more often than not. I see it all the time.

Do calisthenics and start running, eat more protein.

Start lifting weights as soon as able.

Definitely do bodyweight squats (build mobility/movement pattern), pushups (learn to do them correctly because you definitely don't know how), pullups ( again you don't know how to do them), planks, hip thrusts, l-sits, lying leg raises, etc cetera.

Running will help you with regards to building work capacity and fixing posture problems especially with regards to your hips which are probably shit if you sit a ton.

I'm on 5x5 for almost 2 months (been working out with a brosplit for 3 months before that) and I'm already have the top squat in the entire gym, at 70 kg. I was a previous fatty due to a shit diet and an autoimmune disease that rekt my health. Since both of you twits have confirmed you have zero experience dropping weight and getting back into shape and have zero clue what you're talking about, let me continue talking out of my ass and "trolling".

I don't have a good starting picture but I started over 210b lbs. Top pic is after dropping 20 lbs and I started getting into the weight loss thing. Dropped down to 155lbs with a nutrient dense diet and a slight calorie deficiency over the course of several months. Only after dropping the weight did I start working out (bottom picture was after several weeks of the gym @ 160lbs).

Here was more progress. Not sure how long. 6 months or maybe a year of exercise?

Before I lost the weight, I struggled to get my own body weight off the ground. It was literally a struggle just to stand up. Do you think going into the gym and trashing my joints even further would have been a good idea, especially while I was trying to keep my diet under control? You think I needed to go expend some unknown fuckton of calories in the gym and then magically be able to know how much food to eat to continue cutting weight?

I kept my calorie expenditure as steady and predictable as possible so that eating properly took no guesswork. EZ-PZ.

Once I lost the weight I gradually started exercising and gradually started eating more calories. I worked out with light weight and got my form down. Gotta learn to crawl before you can walk. Checked my ego at the door.
