give it to me straight, /fit/
I've been working out since I was 12 up until about a year ago when I had to stop lifting because I was too busy, which was stupid. I'm 19 now. I was squatting 405 for a double at 160 lbs, and now I am 180 and can barely get 2 plates for 8 reps.
tl;dr how long is it going to take me to get my strength back after not lifting for a full year? I feel like I have the strength of a complete beginner now

In my experience dealing with injuries and mono, it takes about half as much time as you took off to get strength back. Longest I've gone is 5 months though, a year is quite a long time for atrophy.

What, do you have a deadline? It doesn't matter; just train.
>>39754734
ok. I was just looking for motivation because I am sad as fuck that I am back at square one

>I am sad as fuck that I am back at square one
Yeah it fuckin sucks, so worry about getting to square two; don't come to /fit/ and ask us to pat you on the back.
>>39754791
could you give me a pat on the back?

Muscle memory will kick in. Should be easier to get back to where you were.
Easier, however. Not easy. You still need to work, faggot.
Why were you so busy that you couldn't lift at all? Never understood this. Even when I"m super busy I still manage to get one workout a week which is usually enough to maintain your lifts. Injuries are the obvious exception of course.
Anyways a part of it is mental. You'll get some crazy noob gains in the next 3 or 4 months. After that it'll get harder.

Returning from an extended delay is best done with a linear progression program. SS+GOMAD faggot.
