Hey /fit/ I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice about planet fitness. I'm a beginner and fairly out of shape. I've recently decided I want to get in shape, but even more so, I want to build MUSCLE. I've done a bit of research, and have figured out a good plan, but I really wanted to know is if Planet Fitness is right for me? Would you guys recommend it? It's the only place which I have access to atm. Advice would be appreciated!
Don't set off the lunk alarm and avoid pizza and bagel day.
if it's the only option you have then it's obviously worth it. from what i understand, though, they don't have barbells so if you did your research correctly you'd understand why this is a problem.

Well this of course. I think it's silly to serve pizza and bagels when you're there to loose weight or maximize your gains. I just really want to body build.

It's not optimal, but it was a good start for me until I got serious about lifting. Made a few gains there, but you definitely miss out on a lot by not having barbells.

I'd agree with this slogan if they didn't discriminate against "lunks". A little hypocritical of them to do that... I don't think people should be shamed for actually trying to get into to shape, or those that are trying to become better. I am aware that it's marketed towards people who aren't serious about working out, but as I said in the OP it's the only place which I have access to atm.
