Has anyone here found success in training both strength and running/

I was thinking of running in the mornings (Trying to build back up to 5km) then working out in the evening or vice versa twice a week, then doing 15 or 20 mins HIIT afterwards once a week. Is it possible to effectively train both at the same time or am I gonna get fucked up?
Any help greatly appreciated

Alternate every week.

Mornings you should do something like a simple calisthenics and short jog.

BUT You can just do 5k training in the mornings and Strength train in the evenings.
But since you are untrained apparently and are running in the mornings you're going to have to give your body time to rest so MWF strength training days are best.

i have.

its doing it every day

ive been doing a mile per day and it gets easier and easier the more i do it

keep at it. never give up. get mad as hell if you have to. but never ever give up.

It's definitely doable. I've done it when I ran in high school and college in the preseason training, and more power oriented lifting in late preseason and during the season.

Not him, but I live in a rural area, and they finished a rail trai la few years back, can easily do an hour one direction on it just taking in sounds/smells/sights of the bush

I run with 80 year olds who can do that. I'm not exaggerating.

When you lift for a very long time it takes close to no effort to lift impressive weighs. I can pick up 280kg dl any time any day just cause ive been doing it for the last 4years.

Since my lifts are in stall galaxy i started running for fun and to improve on something. I run about 5-6miles once per week and its not really a problem any more and i kept my strength.

Improving on both simultaneously may be a challenge though.
