>dont work out the same muscle every day, real growth comes from rest and recovery
Ok, I get that! but why do gymnasts have big arms, cyclists have big legs, and swimmers have huge backs when they workout the same everyday?
Because you CAN workout the same muscles everyday, but doing it in a gym is counter productive, because the idea is you push your muscles to their limit intentionally. Gymnasts, cyclists, and swimmers are more likely to pass out from exhaustion doing intense cardio than their muscles are likely to shut down. Well, gymnasts, maybe not. But cyclists and swimmers, yes.
> literally cardio
Because you never push your muscles to peak for optimal gains

Can you point to any amateur who does any of these activities that has "big muscles"? Everyone at a professional level is on steroids. The cyclists I see biking around have skinny legs built from endurance. The swimmers I see are lean with decent lats.
Yeah but...

Because they've been working for years
You just started lifting 2 months ago
I0m pretty sure they were not practicing whatever sport they excel at 24/7 the first few months they started.

You can work the same muscle groups everyday.
I did arms only for 2 months saw, fixed my SS t-rex physique. They're now my best muscle group.
The worst that happened was that idiots on 4chan lol'd at me but, as you can see, none of them can actually give a reason why curling eeryday is bad besides calling you a curlbro.

Time under tension/stress is almost as important as pure strength.
