>Loosing weight, down to 230 lbs from 250
>Girlfriend is overweight, is and always has been very insecure about her appearance
>Offer to help her loose weight, tell her we can do it together
>Always brushes off the question when I ask her, tries to change the subject, makes excuses
How do I convince her to start working about with me? I really don't care about her being heavy, but she's become glaringly insecure since I started to /fit/ up and it's starting to take a toll on our relationship.

She's insecure because she knows you'll be able to find someone better than her when you reach a normal weight.
Which, by the way, you totally should.

Tell her that it's
for her health
.
There's no way to convince someone to develop self-discipline and motivation.
Either they do it on their own or they never will. Give it some time and if you discover that your goals and hers no longer align, end it.
Never settle.
