I posted this last night but due to my current time zone didn't get the replies I was looking for.
Long story short I am training to be a scout sniper and I've run into somewhat of a road block. In order to perform at the top of my class I need to be able to run 20+ miles with a 50 lb ruck as well as my rifle and full cammies. The weight isn't the hard part actually, believe it or not. The main problem I'm running into is chafing. I chafe in places I didn't think were possible. Keep in mind I'm a large individual (for you). Just under 200 lbs at 5'11".
So I can run 10+ miles absolutely no problem. But at 15 miles the chafing starts to become in issue. I chafe in my thighs, armpits, and lower back where my ruck secures around my hips. It wouldn't be a problem finishing a single event except I have to perform for days and weeks at a time and the chafing is truly unbearable. I'm also afraid of infection due to being out in the field for extended periods of time.
I've tried compression shorts, Vaseline, corn starch (all so far have actually made it worse). Please help, I don't want my career to be ended because I'm chafing in between my massive thunder thighs.
Tl;dr how to stop chafing

Spandex doesn't help?

It helps minimally. It's much worse without it.
Some guys have told me to double up on spandex but that sounds too hot

reroll a bigger frame in your next life
Well for the sake of your career, try doubling up.
Is losing weight an option?
I looked into this a bit ago and found alot of leads posted by marathon runners, dont recall specifics though

You are chafing because you are fat. I gained 10kg and had same problem.
7000kcal energy deficit loses you 1 kg. Easy to do if you are passionate about your career. Commit and execute faggot.
I ran into the same problem going through training for selection. I know it sucks but basically just deal with it man, the biggest part about special operations is having the mindset to accomplish a goal regardless of physical discomfort. I had really bad chafing on my hips from my rucksack. eventually it rubbed down into an open bleeding wound, threw some 100mph tape on it and sucked it up.
tldr: don't be a pussy

Im gonna try the duct tape thing, maybe throw some bacitracin on it so it doesn't get infected. Best advice I've gotten so far

Losing weight isn't going to reduce chafing on my legs and armpits because I have huge thighs and a wide chest, both of which are conducive to my job
